Gentlemen,
Since I first contacted you all almost a year ago, I have learned quite a bit about PBRs and the gallantry of the River Rats. Truly remarkable service, that unfortunately, not many Americans know about. I was one of them. It has only been in the past couple years that I began to learn of the significant contribution of the Brown Water Navy, and how you all gave Charlie fits!!!
I contacted you all last year to gain more information on PBRs that I could incorporate into my 1:18 scale
radio control model. I received considerable help from Mark Herrmann, who
has has become a good friend of mine. Mark has put up with my endless questions
and provided valuable insight, as well as actual photos from his own collection.
I'm grateful for his help and his friendship.
Likewise, I am grateful to all of you for your service. You are HEROES!!! THANK YOU!!!
Anyway, attached are photos of my revised display, and actual shots of the boat on the water. This boat is MUCH more realistic than it was a year ago, thanks to Mark. He has given me a thumbs-up on my model, and I appreciate that.
